Michael has owned his 1992 Acura NSX for over 11 years. With winter soon knocking on the door, the opportunity was taken for a Fall drive with this Japanese classic into the foothills west of Calgary. I hopped in for the ride.

Conceived at the height of the Japanese glory years, the NSX was aimed at undercutting the Ferraris of the era. Meeting those technical expectations (if perhaps not the screams of the Italian V8’s) while adding typical Japanese reliability, an instant classic was born.





The classic-car driving season in Alberta can feel frustratingly short, but the roads in the Foothills more than make it worth the effort.

The cows of Kananaskis roam around relatively free, contained loosely by Texas Gates; metal grids set into the roadway that let vehicles pass while keeping livestock from crossing.

Not unexpected for a beautiful fall morning, we came across plenty of others giving their cars a little exercise. Classic BMW, Porsches, Ferrari’s, Astons were seen.
